Dr. Sundberg received his B.A. in Physics and Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, and did post-doctoral work at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, NY) and UCSF. He has been an early-stage employee and key contributor to several successful life science technology start-ups, including Affymax and Caliper Technologies. His industry experience includes research & development work on novel optical detection techniques, microarray technologies, and microfluidic devices and systems for drug discovery and diagnostics applications. He is an inventor on 36 issued U.S. patents, and has extensive experience in leading multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers on technology development & commercialization projects. He presently consults for early-stage life science companies here in the San Francisco bay area.
He will speak about his industry experience and share some of the insight that he's gained while working as an R&D scientist in early-stage technology companies.
