Diego Rey is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer and Jason Springs is the Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer of GeneWeave Biosciences, a venture-backed life science company developing simple to use tests for the detection of pathogenic bacteria.

Diego co-founded GeneWeave in 2010 during his PhD studies at Cornell University. During his time at Cornell, Diego Chaired the Technical Advisory Board of the BR Venture Fund, he currently sits on the Advisory Board of The Nanotechnology Law & Business Journal and is a mentor at Singularity University's SynBio Startup Launchpad and the University of California at Santa Barbara's Technology & Industry Alliances Startup Support Program.

Jason Springs graduated with MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics and Management from the University of South Carolina. Jason also worked as a Program Specialist at Lockheed Martin.s aerospace business unit. The program's activities included licensing LM proprietary aircraft component designs to domestic and international manufacturing facilities for production and international distribution.

GeneWeave recently secured a $12MM Series A financing for undergoing product development, FDA-clearance, and launch of the company's initial product.
