In our continued commitment to increase mentorship and industry-relevant training in the postdoctoral program at Stanford, AIMS is hosting Gloria Lin, an immigration lawyer who is going to share her tremendous experience about immigration considerations for J-1 postdocs who are interested in industry& Entrepreneurship:

(1) Different avenues to green card for postdocs
(2) Types of nonimmigrant status that might apply to somebody intending to form a start-up company
(3) Visa options and strategies for potential employees in industry

Speaker.s Bio:
Gloria Lin co-founded Immigration Law Group after over eight years of experience in immigration law, both as a law clerk, and as an attorney. Her extensive legal experience spans the entire spectrum of immigration law, from successfully processing high-volume non-immigrant petitions, labor certifications, and immigrant petitions, to family-based petitions and asylum cases.
A firm believer in public service and providing pro bono legal representation, Gloria also serves as a Volunteer Attorney with the Asian Community Immigration Clinic at the Asian Law Alliance in San Jose, California where she has volunteered her services since 1995. In this capacity, Gloria counsels low-income individuals in various immigration issues. She also leads immigration training seminars for student volunteers at Stanford Law School.
Gloria received her baccalaureate degree from the University of California at Berkeley in Rhetoric and received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. She is admitted to practice in California, and is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
